October 2011

A pretty quiet month for releases after a fairly busy September. Look out for more next month as labels look to get product out in time for Christmas.

3/10 - The Jesus & Mary Chain - Stoned and Dethroned/ Munki (Edsel)

The final two Mary Chain albums get the treatment, their last major label release and the one album the disintegrating band made when they returned to Creation Records. Each one is packaged in a double CD set with an additional DVD. The original albums are remastered and the extras include b-sides, extended versions and BBC sessions, with the DVDs including promo videos and TV clips. Each release comes with an extensive booklet.

3/10 - The Ballad of Mott The Hoople (Start)

A feature length documentary that tells the story of England's greatest ever band. The film brings the Mott story to life through a stunning combination of rare and unseen archive footage, their magnificent music, and the testimony of band members. Directly or indirectly, Mott influenced every band of any worth to emerge after the mid 1970s, including the Clash and the Pistols. The DVD is packaged with a booklet featuring liner notes from Morrissey.
